Hey guys. :B

Still getting the hang of this Dreamwidth business, figured I'd share something quick I did the other day for starts.

Name: Tropic Dreams
Medium: Photoshop
Year: 2009

A speedpaint I started one morning after having a rather odd dream about jungles, most of which eludes me. Jungles terrify and fascinate me. They always have, they always will. I remember countless treks in Zanzibar when I was much younger with my parents through rain forests, and I remember being scared out of my wits for some unexplainable reason.

Crits not desired so much on this since it's just something I did in an hour to get it off my chest, per se.

The red eyes in the darkness. You got the creepiness you were feeling in there. It's also some cool use of light with the streaming sunbeams and the mottled jungle floor- gives the feeling that the ground might have secret creatures hiding there waiting to jump out and grab you. I like it.

I particularly like that you put other red dots (fruit?) into the bush under which the red-eyed beastie is hiding. Sort-of suggests that it might be just a trick of the light, and there's no beastie at all.

This is awesome! I love the filtered sunlight. I do NOT wanna go in there.

The shafts of light light are completely, completely beautiful. The red eyes in the corner are a great subtle reminder of the danger that can lie waiting in even the most beautiful scene. I love the dreamy feel to it.
