Zine + A Couple of Paintings
Hey there! It's been a while since I posted here. I got a couple of things to show!
First up, Monsters Trapped in Resin. It's a zine I've been slowly working on for the past six months, and finally finished the bugger.

I make hand-painted jewelry (some of you might remember this). A while back, I wrote a bunch of super-short stories to go with each piece, and now they're all collected in this booklet.
I got the chance to finish this by doing as a project for class. The "jewelry" covers came out of the class crits, for which I am thankful for. I made all the cover images with gouache and ball-point pen.
Anyways, the next ones are a painted wood piece and a straight-up gouache painting:

The Last Three Zugarian Queens Before the Revolution. Another class project. It was inspired by classic Royal portraiture, so I painted the last three queen of a made-up alien society before a bloody revolution. Doing this reminded me why I HATE acrylic. The coloring was fine, but doing linework? Painful. I ended up using a brush pen instead.
I actually have a tutorial for this. Somehow I remembered to take pictures. You can find it here.

Another assignment. We had to illustrate our hometown...I wish I could say I grossly exaggerated, but no. Thanks, Valley. Anyways, this is all gouache except for the red line- that's a .005 pen. I like how this ended up, especially the characters!
Thanks for looking!

The Queens...that was a frustrating process. I like them a lot more now than I did right after I finished them.
