I come bringing art dolls to show and tell. ^___^)b
So, if what they say is true and whatever you're doing on New Year's Day is what you'll be doing the rest of the year, then I shall be spending twenny-leven sitting in starbucks posting about dolls. ^_^ Not bad, that!
Here are a couple dolls I just finished!

Hunter - Sofia
~mixed media art doll
~2010
9" tall
Sofia loves to dance and is quite stylish. She keeps dragonflies in her garden and has won best in show at the Dragonfly Show three years in a row!

Her skirt is made of silk scraps I bought at FaerieCon a few years ago.

The leather and fur are also scraps.

Aaah! Poochy belly! ♥

That's bit of sweet potato behind her that I need to get potted soon. :D
*****
And this is Lorne!

Lorne is a lizardthing! He likes to eat bugs and goes bungee jumping on weekends.

His eyes are labrodorite beads with some really nice flash!

His spikes are polymer clay as is his head, but his antennae are wire with beads on the tips.

The stitching is done with waxed linen and triangular leather needles. (ow my fingers. :P)

All of my dolls have teeth and tongues whether or not their mouths are closed. (except for the birdthings, who just have tongues. ^_^;)

His tail makes me happy. ^_________^ ♥

*****
And a few work in progress pics. ^____^

The armature right before sculpting her head.

The jewelled horns are glass beads and wire.

Like this!

Her armature is made of wire, aluminium foil, floral tape and paint. I have a little tutorial Here if you are interested in how my dolls are made. ^_^

The key ingredient is, of course, Nutella and a spoon. All of my art is fueled by chocolate. yus. :D

I love Sofia's skirt. I would wear it myself if I had enough scraps to make one! ^_^ I would also wear Lorne's tail, but it seems to be quite attached to him. ~_^

Thank you for looking! ^___^
