It is a narrative piece, so there is a story; but I prefer people to come up with their own stories for the Wandsuna series. I kind of hope there's enough symbolism and emotion in there, that people can find narratives that mean something to them. For example, I never intended the nest to symbolically double as a pyre of flames, but a few people have pointed out the foxes could represent flames and the nest could double as a pyre, adding a level of narrative I would never have thought of on my own but is entirely plausible in such a symbolic piece. I love narrative construction in expressive artwork. :)
