His Majesty's Nose Itches

40 x 30", oil paint and wax medium on canvas.

Finished last night because show deadline. The wax medium is Dorland's Wax Medium, which comes in a wide-mouth jar and looks something like Crisco. Translucent, thick, a wax/resin mixture that you add as much or as little oil paint to as you want, and then use a brush and/or palette knife. I've done both here.

The horse's name is Dudley and he's a big friendly Clydesdale who lives in the same pasture as my mare.

That is gorgeous! I love Clydesdales, they are so amazing yet also tend to be so sweet (I assume gentle disposition was bred for, given their size).

That's gorgeous, and makes me miss the Clydesdales I used to see at the New York State Fair.
