I finally got permission to post some of the things I've been working on over the past year. I'd like everyone to meet my baby, Southwestern Flavor Adventure.

Southwestern Flavor Adventure is a coloring book about foods native to New Mexico. It's Spanish/English and illiterate-friendly, with pictorial recipes and diagrams supplementing the text. It's geared towards teachers, 1st and 2nd graders, and parents. It's meant to help address food education in rural areas. Eventually the packets will be free to download for anyone who wants to teach a child how to eat a cactus safely. :3!
( Five Packet Cover Illustrations! )
Next week, I'll post the taxonomic illustrations. After that, I think I'll post the pictorial recipes and then maybe have a post about all the tiny random graphics.

Apologies for the dA embeds, but the internet has been finicky tonight and I just couldn't upload the photos to my own server. Humph.

Apr. 23rd, 2011 03:17 pmHi there, I'm new here. I've been watching for a little bit and thought maybe I'd post some of my own drawings. It's a little intimidating because there are so many fantastic artists here ;-;

I like to draw on things
Apr. 23rd, 2011 12:31 pmMostly because things in the mail should be decorated and colored and shared while its in route ♥
Anyway, recently, it was my friends birthday, and I didnt have any wrapping paper. So, I found some sort of ...tissue paper...(I think) and wrapped up her gifts with those, then doodled on them for decoration.

Apr. 21st, 2011 08:35 pmHi, I'm new to this community. I make comics and some other comic-y stuff. None of the content is anything I would describe as adult, but I've been doing a lot of stuff on queer issues recently.
I've been doing a self-portrait every day for the last six months or so
( the last few self-portraits )
This is something I did a few months ago on coming out and dealing with family:
( erased )
This is a piece I finished this week on, uh, trouble that I've had dating.
( Gender Rejection )
I do use my personal journal to post my art.

Friendship Ponies
Apr. 11th, 2011 11:37 pmI was harangued into posting this!
I'm a fan of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic. One day while bored I had the sudden inspiration to make fan ponies for a few friends who are also into the show. I had planned to do about four of them.
I have now drawn twenty-two (as well as a few Homestuck ponies) and I still have more on the waiting list.
( Here are some of my favourites: )
I guess it's a good thing that I was never very good at human anatomy to begin with, because whenever I've tried to draw a person over the last couple weeks they have come out rather ponyish...

Conte pencils, white charcoal pencil, Wolff's carbon pencil on brown (Cachet Earthbound Sketchbook) paper. About 8.5 x 11".
Source was a photo I took at the dog park.
But seeing as I just ordered business cards and I'm feeling kind of friendly on this rainy April 1st, I feel like asserting my presence on DW. There has also been some cool art from this community and I feel compelled to share some of my work. I can't say it's going to be a regular thing, but, yeah. You can find most of my work on reddogdied.deviantart.com at the moment.
( There is some nudity but otherwise safe! )
I don't really use my journal here for art purposes but hello to all the artists out there and those who use photoshop <3. Merry meet!

New Works (Mostly digital for once!)
Mar. 29th, 2011 06:01 pmHi guys! I know I haven't posted here in a while- I've been busy with a multitude of projects.
Anyways, for the past half year or so, I've started to expand into the digital realm, as well as a bit of fashion illustration.
( A LOT of pictures behind this cut- slow connections, beware )
Cross-posted to....a lot of places. Sorry if I show up more than once on your f-list!

So this is the story in the Metamorphoses that really stands out for me, because this one really feels more like a reward from the gods than a punishment. I also enjoy the love story.

10 x 8" oil on canvas. This is what I've been doing today. Probably will make a few more tweaks to it, but right now I'm pretty happy.
Fangs, Goggles, and Horns, Oh My!
Mar. 9th, 2011 09:45 pmI couldn't resist the cheesy title. First one out in the open, and a few more behind the cut.
