I don't use this community nearly enough!
I keep forgetting it exists. *blush*
Anyway, here's some of my recent soft pastel work.
And by recent, I mean today.
I even mean 'currently getting pastel dust on the keyboard.'

Pastel drawn from a photo of mine. Cannot seem to get things angled the way they are in photos, but, still pretty happy with this. Particularly since it has been 3 months since I last drew. I was actually afraid to try again.

I've been all sorts of nostalgic over Inuyasha lately. It was one of my first big series (besides Dragonball) that I really got into. So, I doodled a little head shot. Can I just say, I LOVE how he turned out! Oh man, I want my style to look like this all the time. ;A;

My first post here, a quick (about 30-45 min) sketch of Rupert Giles from Buffy. HB mechanical pencil, drawn from a reference image.

And while we're on the subject of art, does anyone here use Artician? Is it any good? I'm trying to find a non-fannish place where to post art instead of Deviantart.

I realized I have been terribly inactive over here...thought I'd attempt to be slightly more active, at least here in the art community, considering that I have all sorts of artsy projects happening. :) This is part one of one of those projects.

Just joined Dreamwidth but am a regular on Deviant Art. I just thought I would share with you all one of my latest pieces that I am really proud of. I hope you all like it.

Done a couple hours ago. 5" square oil on canvas, loosely translated from life.

I made two peony paintings today. The first took about an hour and kind of sucked. This is the second one, which took about twenty minutes (I think -- I lose track of time when making art) and I love it.

I'm learning to loosen up more often, and trust myself a bit more.

Figured I'd go ahead and update with the latest series of pieces I've been doing- here's the first, and just jump under the cut for the rest:

These are all done with a Pentel brush pen, Micron pens for the crosshatching, and prismacolor markers.

Her name is Pumpkin. She's a French Bulldog -- the first of the breed I've ever met. I took several photos of her and used this one, with its fantastic light/shadow pattern, for an oil painting. 10 x 8", on canvas.

The owner may or may not buy this; it wasn't a commission, which is one reason I felt free to play with the colors the way I did. But if it doesn't sell, I'll use it like crazy for advertising. :-)  I already got a new painting student because of it, and I just finished the canvas last night!

Update: Sold! *happy dance*
